English Family Env. — 艾罗(Dana Gaska)
除了在雪城中文学校,我还在公立学校教中文,从事中文教学已经十多年了。我是上大学才开始学中文的,先在SUNY Albany, 然后在台湾师范大学的国语中心和北大学习。我希望给孩子们提供一个温暖、有趣、快乐的学习环境,帮助他们提高学中文的兴趣。老师的生活很忙,可是有空的时候就喜欢看书,艺术和远足。
In addition to teaching at CNY Chinese School, I also teach Chinese in a public school. I have been teaching Chinese for more than ten years. I began learning Chinese when I was in college, first at SUNY Albany, and later at the Mandarin Training Center of National Taiwan Normal University and at Peking University. I strive to create a warm, engaging, and enjoyable learning environment where students can develop both their Chinese language skills and their interest in learning Chinese.Teaching keeps me busy, but in my free time I enjoy reading, exploring the arts, and hiking.

Kindergarten — 范英俐(Yingli Fan)
从2009年春季开始成为了一名学前班老师,我很喜欢和小朋友在一起学习中文,希望能通过寓教于乐的方式,让孩子们开心地学习中文和中国文化。
I have been teaching preschool and kindergarten students since the spring of 2009. I truly enjoy learning and exploring the Chinese language with young children. My goal is to help children develop a love for Chinese language and culture through engaging, age-appropriate, and enjoyable activities. By combining learning with fun, I hope to create a positive and supportive environment where children can happily learn Chinese and gain an appreciation for Chinese culture.

Grade 1st — 张菁(Jing Zhang)
爱教书,爱孩子。一晃来雪城整整20年,教中文也有10多年了,一直坚持基础教学。我将会继续和孩子们,家长朋友们一同探索将中文教学寓教于乐的教学模式,打好中文学习的基础,开启孩子们学中文的乐趣,以便让孩子们在学中文的道路上走得更好更远。
I love teaching and working with children. I have lived in Syracuse for 20 years and have been teaching Chinese for more than 10 years. Throughout my career, I have been committed to helping students build a strong foundation in Chinese language learning. I enjoy working closely with students and parents to create a fun, engaging, and supportive learning environment. My goal is to inspire children to enjoy learning Chinese, build confidence in their language skills, and develop a lifelong appreciation for the language and culture.

Grade 3rd — 杨正(Zheng Yang)
老家在西安,中国科技大学化学物理系学士, 中国科学院化学研究所博士,2018年全家来到雪城,现在在INFICON从事仪器研发工作。有一儿一女,女儿在中文学校学前班学习。很高兴有机会在中文学校教孩子们中文,希望能尽自己的一份力量让我们的下一代保持对中国文化的兴趣。
I am originally from Xi’an, China. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Chemical Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China and my Ph.D. from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. My family moved to Syracuse in 2018, and I currently work at INFICON, where I am involved in instrument research and development. I am the father of a son and a daughter, and my daughter is currently a preschool student at Syracuse Chinese School.I am grateful for the opportunity to teach Chinese at the school. I hope to contribute in my own way to helping the next generation maintain an interest in the Chinese language and culture and develop a deeper appreciation for their cultural heritage.

Grade 4th — 李贞(Zhen Li)
来自北京,出生于湖北黄冈,拥有高级中学语文教师资格证,也是一位有三个孩子的母亲。多年教育经历让我深知,语言学习不仅是知识的积累,更是心灵与心灵的呼应。我注重激发孩子们的好奇与专注,在故事与创造中感受中文之美。我相信教育是一棵树摇动另一棵树,期待与孩子们一同探索中文与文化的奥妙,在成长中绽放属于他们的光芒。
I am originally from Beijing and was born in Huanggang, Hubei, China. I hold a Senior High School Chinese Language Teaching Certificate and am the mother of three children. I believe that language learning is more than acquiring knowledge—it is a way to connect hearts and minds. In my teaching, I encourage curiosity, creativity, and focused learning while helping students discover the beauty of the Chinese language and culture through stories and exploration. I look forward to learning and growing together with my students and helping each child shine in their own unique way.

Grade 5th — 钟雪茂(Xuemao Zhong)
热爱教师这份工作,喜欢和孩子们打交道。之前分别在不同年龄的教室环境工作,孩子们的独特性也让我不断改进教学的方式方法,让孩子们在学习中找到乐趣,愿意主动去学,并乐此不疲。希望接下来的一年孩子们在中文学校过得开心,度过美好难忘的一年!
I love teaching and enjoy working with children. Having taught students of different ages, I have learned that every child is unique and deserves a learning experience that is both engaging and enjoyable. My goal is to help students build confidence, develop an interest in Chinese, and discover the joy of learning. I strive to create a positive and supportive classroom where children can learn, grow, and have fun.

Grade 6th — 姜微(Wei Jiang)
毕业于日本福冈教育大学,但是毕业之后却无缘教育职业,而在日本从事IT行业数年。2011年随先生一起来到美国,家有一儿一女。深知在海外的孩子学习中文的不容易,希望能尽我的绵薄之力让孩子们快快乐乐的学习中文,同时也感谢中文学校让我实现了教师梦。
I graduated from Fukuoka University of Education in Japan. Although I did not begin my career in education after graduation, I worked in the IT industry in Japan for several years. In 2011, I moved to the United States with my husband, and we have a son and a daughter. As a parent, I understand the challenges children face when learning Chinese overseas. I hope to contribute my efforts to creating a joyful and encouraging environment where children can learn Chinese happily. I am also grateful to Syracuse Chinese School for giving me the opportunity to fulfill my dream of becoming a teacher.

Grade 7th — 刘鹤松(Hesong Liu)
我目前在Upstate Medical工作,是一名从事神经科学研究的科研人员,我的研究方向主要与认知功能相关。工作之余,我也是一位一岁宝宝的家长。作为家长,我非常希望孩子能够在一个充满中文语言和文化氛围的环境中成长。因此,我很高兴有机会在中文学校做老师,在帮助孩子们学习中文的同时,也学习如何更好地与孩子沟通,营造一个轻松、快乐、有趣的学习环境。除此之外,我也在小动物救助组织和Habitat for Humanity 做志愿者。平时爱好做手工和遛狗遛娃。希望能够和大家一起共同成长.
I currently work at Upstate Medical University as a neuroscience researcher, with a primary focus on cognitive function research.Outside of work, I am also the parent of a one-year-old child. As a parent, I hope my child can grow up in an environment rich in Chinese language and culture. Therefore, I am very happy to have the opportunity to be a teacher at Chinese school. While helping children learn Chinese, I am also learning how to communicate with them more effectively and create a relaxed, joyful, and engaging learning environment. In addition, I volunteer with a local animal rescue organization and Habitat for Humanity. In my free time, I enjoy crafting, walking my dog, and spending time outdoors with my child. I look forward to learning and growing together with everyone.

舞蹈 — 王欣茹(Xinru Wang)
我目前任职于 SUNY Upstate Medical University,担任微生物学与免疫学助理教授。我一直热爱舞蹈,也很喜欢和小朋友们相处。希望在课堂上带着小朋友们一起学习舞蹈、享受音乐,在快乐中培养自信、团队协作和舞台表现力。期待和大家见面,一起度过愉快的dancing时光。
I am an Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at SUNY Upstate Medical University. I have always loved dancing and enjoy working with children. In my class, I hope to help children learn dance, enjoy music, and build confidence, teamwork, and stage presence in a fun and supportive environment. I look forward to meeting everyone and sharing a wonderful dance experience together!

Art –Bharati Mahajan
I hold a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and a master’s degree in human-Computer Interaction. Previously, I had the pleasure of teaching at the Everson Museum, where I led a program called Sunday Fun day, catering to young creative minds. I have always been passionate about working with kids and fostering their artistic talents.

Go (Weiqi) — Richard Moseson
I am a retired systems programmer and for many years has been the Director of Operations for Syracuse Friends of Chamber Music; as a cellist, I also enjoy playing chamber music myself. I coached Manlius Pebble Hill School’s Math Counts team for several years and have run the school’s Weiqi club there since 2002. I am president of the Syracuse Go Club and enjoy teaching and promoting Weiqi; in 2013, the American Go Foundation designated me its Teacher of the Year. This is my 10th year at CNY Chinese School as a volunteer Weiqi teacher.

Go (Weiqi) Teacher Assistant — Eric Hookway
I have a B.S. in Accounting from LeMoyne, I am a material handler at PPC-Belden. Since 2014 I began to be a volunteer Weiqi teacher assistant in CNY Chinese school. I enjoy and write music.

Go (Weiqi) Teacher Assistant — Michael Miller
I am a retired mathematics professor from Le Moyne College and first learned to play Weiqi as a teenager. As a mathematician, I enjoy exploring how its simple rules give rise to complex strategies. As a Weiqi player, I appreciate that no one unplayed stone has more power than any other, and that the stones best achieve their goals by working together. This is my first year at the CNY Chinese School as a volunteer Weiqi teacher assistant

Calligraphy — 李贞(Zhen Li)
在书法课堂中,我引导孩子通过书写逐步建立专注与书写节奏。课程以楷书为基础,结合古诗,在循序渐进的练习中,带领孩子走进诗的画面与意境,体会汉字的结构之美与笔画变化。希望陪伴孩子在一笔一画中感受中文书写的秩序与韵律,在安静而持续的书写中,慢慢亲近书法之美与传统文化。
In my calligraphy class, students learn to build focus, patience, and confidence through Chinese writing. Using regular script and classical poetry, I guide children to appreciate the beauty of Chinese characters, brushstrokes, and traditional culture. My hope is that each child can enjoy the calm rhythm of writing and develop a lasting connection with the Chinese language and the art of calligraphy.

太极 — 王宝福(Baofu Wang)
王宝福老师现就职于纽约州立大学科特兰分校,担任体育教育专业助理教授。他在天津体育学院本科阶段,学习了简化24式太极拳、长拳等中国传统武术拳种。自
2011年以来,王宝福老师先后在山西医科大学、路易斯安那州立大学以及西伊利诺伊大学承担公共体育课程和大学选修课程的太极拳教学工作,积累了丰富的太极拳中英双语教学经验,其课程深受广大学生欢迎。
Dr. Baofu Wang is currently an Assistant Professor of Physical Education Department at the State University of New York at Cortland (SUNY Cortland). He completed his undergraduate studies at Tianjin University of Sport, where he received formal training in traditional Chinese martial arts, including the Simplified 24-Form Tai Chi and Changquan. Since 2011, Dr. Wang has taught Tai Chi in both general physical education and university elective courses at Shanxi Medical University, Louisiana State University, and Western Illinois University. He brings extensive experience in bilingual (Chinese-English) Tai Chi instruction, and his courses have been widely appreciated by students.
