Our Story
Central New York Chinese School is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization, committed to providing the Central New York communities with a structured Chinese language learning program and served the Syracuse area communities for over 18 years. We also provide a platform on which Chinese cultural tradition and heritage are showcased and celebrated.

CNY Chinese school has helped me greatly with everything. I have learned Chinese allowing me to make more friends and better communicate with family. I have also met many new people and made many friends. I am grateful for the experiences and opportunities Chinese school has given me.
CNY Chinese School taught me not only the Chinese language but also the culture. Through learning Chinese here, I’ve been able to connect and meet new people I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise. Thank you CNY Chinese School for introducing me to lifelong friends and memories that I’ll always cherish.
The CNY Chinese School was a place where I met many new friends and made a lot of memories. I used to cry on Sunday mornings before I went, but when I was there I was only sometimes miserable. I did really bad on my 听写 and I’m surprised I wasn’t held back a grade. I remember buying tennis balls once from the school store with my 钱. Even though I wasn’t happy at the time, I still learned a lot of Chinese and met a new community.
I wish I studied harder and spent longer in CNY Chinese School because now I meet people in college who speak Chinese and my Chinese sucks and I embarrass myself lol. Thank you to all my teachers at CNY though because I developed a strong foundation and basics that I will never forget, plus an understanding of Chinese folk tales and history. Even if I wasn’t the best student, the teachers were always passionate and engaging. Big thanks to Chen-Laoshi who reminded me to always smile, in dance and in life!
